Understand lighting, and experiment with ISO and aperture settings to achieve the cinematic look that appeals to you.

When you open the application, clicking on the icon in the top left corner will display a list of cameras available on your device. Typically, you would choose one of the rear-facing cameras for this purpose. In this tutorial, I will be using the Redmi Note 8 Pro device and specifically the 0.25mm f/1.89 (back-facing) camera.

 

Once you have selected the appropriate camera, you can proceed with the following steps to capture cinematic footage:

Choose Your Subjects: Begin by selecting the subjects you want to capture in your cinematic footage. Whether it’s nature, trees, flowers, insects, or any other objects, ensure they fit the theme and style you desire.

Create Depth of Field: Utilize the camera’s focusing capabilities to create depth of field in your shots. This will help to emphasize your subject while blurring the background, giving your footage a more cinematic look.

Compose Your Shots: Pay attention to framing and composition. Consider the rule of thirds and other composition techniques to create visually appealing scenes.

Understand Lighting: Lighting plays a crucial role in cinematography. Observe the lighting conditions and how they affect your subjects. Experiment with different angles to achieve the desired look.

Adjust Settings: With the Mcpro24fps app, you can adjust various settings like ISO and aperture values. Experiment with these settings to control exposure and achieve the cinematic aesthetics you want.

In the circular icon resembling a vortex below, you’ll find a list of various color presets with different dynamic ranges. By choosing the most suitable dynamic range from this list, you can aim to capture the desired cinematic footage.

 

 

Choose a Dynamic Range: From the list of color presets in the circular icon, select the one that complements the scene’s atmosphere and matches your creative vision. Look for presets that enhance the colors and add depth to your shot without overexposing or losing details in the highlights or shadows. i usually use mcinelog dynamic preset.

There are the same settings in the button similar to the processor symbol right next to it, but it may tire your device because it uses the processor memory while applying these settings. So it makes more sense to use the list on the left.

Focus Method Selection: First, choose the focusing method. If the object or subject you are shooting is stationary, the automatic focus method may be sufficient. However, if you want to highlight a specific area or achieve a special effect, using the tap-to-focus or manual focus options may be more appropriate.

Automatic Focus: If the subject you are shooting is not moving, and having everything in the frame in focus is important, you can opt for automatic focus. This way, your camera will automatically focus on the area you are shooting.

Tap-to-Focus: If you want to highlight a specific object, use the tap-to-focus method on the screen. Your camera will focus on the point you touch, making that area sharp and clear.

Manual Focus: If you want more control or wish to create a specific effect, you can choose manual focus. With manual focus, you can precisely capture the desired depth of field.

Zoom Adjustments: Additionally, with the zoom settings in the circle, you can zoom in or out of the area you are shooting. By adjusting the zoom level appropriately, you can add more depth and impact to your shot.

By experimenting with the various focusing methods offered by your camera application and making different zoom adjustments, you can capture the desired depth of field and cinematic effects. As a result, you can highlight objects such as the keyboard and perfume bottle and achieve an impressive and artistic image. Happy shooting!

Let’s move on to the most important settings. When we touch the camera icon below, we can select the frame rate and resolution. We can also choose whether to use GPU or CPU memory. I usually use the settings “with GPU,” with 24fps frame rate, and 4K resolution.

 

Scroll down in the setting menu and you will see the codec settings. Here I am working with h264 and 240mbps bitrate values.

 

 

Further down, under the video recording options, there are crop settings. Here, you can choose how much to crop the video from the top and bottom to achieve a more cinematic look. In the photo, with the aspect ratio of 2.76:1 selected, you can see the extent of the cropping.
